I’m sure you know that Christmas is all about giving, but we tend to forget about it. We have lots of gifts to wrap and cookies to bake, and we are so busy that we don’t even notice such a charming holiday as Christmas. If you are tired of people who can’t stop complaining about the holiday season when Christmas time comes around, I suggest you try to spread Christmas cheer and boost other people’s Christmas spirit.
1. Bake Christmas cookies
Everyone likes cookies, especially Christmas cookies! One of the best and easy ways to make people smile is to offer them a tasty treat. Assign a day in your busy schedule for baking delicious Christmas cookies for family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers.
If you have kids, ask them to help you. If you don’t have children, don’t get upset, invite close friends or relatives to help you bake cookies.
2. Give out greetings
It’s one of the easiest ways to spread Christmas cheer. While out shopping for family and friends, at the grocery store, or even on your way to work, purchase gift cards, smile and hand them to passersby, and don’t forget to wish a hearty “Merry Christmas.” In such a way, you will inspire others to be happy this Christmas and spread the holiday cheer.
3. Sing Christmas carols
Nothing can spread the holiday cheer better than Christmas carols. Sing Christmas carols in your home for family and friends.
You can also sing Christmas carols at work during the break. As the holiday approaches, take your family, friends, or neighbors caroling to help spread the Christmas spirit.
4. Order a festive pizza
If you have relatives and friends who are going through a difficult time, no matter emotionally or financially, send them some food, for example, a festive pizza. It is so easy to go online and order a tasty pizza for someone who feels lonely or depressed this Christmas.
You shouldn’t even say them that you send that pizza. That’s just an easy and small gesture that can make someone’s evening happier.
5. Volunteer your time
If you don’t have money to donate to others, don’t be sad. For a special present, volunteer your time and energy. Helping people is the best way to spread Christmas cheer. Find a time to volunteer at an orphanage, nursing home, women’s shelter, or even at a homeless shelter.
Smile and give some gift cards and you can spread those people around this Christmas cheer. Teach your kids the true spirit of giving and ask them to choose toys to give to orphans. Filling orphans’ hearts with happiness is certainly to fill yours and your kids as well.
6. Decorate the house
Do you remember that feeling from your childhood when you saw your neighboring houses lit up with Christmas lights and bright decorations? Don’t miss this cheerful feeling and share that with your kids and other people by decorating the outside of your house with festive lights. Make a lot of different homemade Christmas decorations and brighten the interior of your home with them.
7. Bless your friends
Take one of your favorite easy-to-make dinner recipes, print or copy it out, and go to the grocery store. Buy needed ingredients and drop them off together with the cooking recipe at a house of your friend who is going through a hard time or doesn’t have time for cooking.
Your friend will definitely thank you. It’s a great way to spread Christmas cheer and help those in need. Not all of us have money for Christmas dinner, after all.
If you are a kind person, then these tips are certainly for you. No matter how you spread Christmas cheer, your acts of kindness can make someone’s day, holiday, or even life better! You don’t have to spend tons of cash in order to make someone happy. All you need to give is your time and maybe some effort.
