8 Helpful Winter Diet Tips

Do you worry about keeping your figure through the winter months? Please, don’t worry! You should know just a few key rules and stick to them! I’ve got 8 easy winter diet tips, which can help to keep you on track throughout the winter and inspire you to go out in the cold and exercise.

1. Don’t skip exercise

If it’s winter it doesn’t mean that you may skip your workout! If you want to maintain your figure you should regularly do exercise! A 20-minute walk or light jog in the cold air can burn lots of calories!

If you can’t work out in the cold, go to the gym or buy a treadmill and use it at least once a week. It is one of the most important winter diet tips!

2. Cook at home

When you eat out of home it’s much easier to overeat and have something that is higher in calorie content. I suggest you start cooking at home more often! Because you know exactly how healthy your meal is and what products you use.

3. Don’t eat bread

I know bread is soft and tasty and our main food, but it certainly packs on those extra pounds, especially if you eat bread with butter. So try to skip the bread, you can eat veggies or crackers instead. Trust me, it does make a difference!

4. Have a healthy breakfast

One of my helpful winter diet tips is to remember to have a healthy breakfast. Don’t eat only a banana or a glass of milk or a cup of coffee.

You need to eat a healthy breakfast that will keep you going throughout the day. Besides, a wholesome breakfast will also help you to avoid overeating later on in the day.

5. Don’t forget about the portion

It is one of my best winter diet tips! In wintertime, you often can’t deny yourself a cookie or a brownie, and it seems that you think about these sweet treats all the time.

So don’t starve yourself! Instead, portion yourself! Allow yourself one or two cookies and one small brownie. You still curb your craving, but do not overdo it!

6. Eat sweets

I can agree that walking past the sweet treats without overeating is hard. So try to remember the following winter diet tip: Eat as much as you want of the pumpkin and zucchini baked goods, because they are usually made with reduced sugar and other organic ingredients.

7. Avoid cream-based soups

Okay, soup is one of the main comfort food of winter, which is filling, warm, and homey. But do you know that soups can pack on the extra pounds?

That’s why try to avoid cream-based soups, which contain 20 grams of fat and 350-400 calories per serving. Instead, eat vegetable or chili soups, which have 150-200 calories and 5-10 grams of fat.

8. Eat more fruits and vegetables

In winter it’s very important to eat more fruits and veggies. Try to buy more fruits and vegetables, and you will have them on hand around the house and snack on or cook some delicious meals with them. Eating fruits and vegetables will help you to maintain a healthy weight!
