1. Body mist doesn’t last as long as a perfume
One of the most important things that you should watch out for while buying body mist is that it doesn’t last as long as a perfume. You just spray it on and an hour later, it is absolutely gone. So you will have to reapply it very often.
2. Body mist has a lighter scent
Another most notable difference between body mist and perfume is that a body mist has much lighter scent than a perfume. That’s because of the things that we’re going to clear up below. In fact, body mist is meant to be light and airy, but not something that weighs you down.
3. The water addition
There are many reasons why the scent isn’t strong enough in a body mist for it to last long, and one of the main reasons is the water addition. There’s much more water in a body mist and that’s why the scent is not so strong. Remember it while buying your body mist!
4. Body mist is less concentrated
In fact, most body mists are not concentrated at all, the scent is usually diluted enough so that it will stick to your skin for at least an hour, and you will have to keep reapplying. That’s one of the reasons why I don’t like body mists!
5. It contains more alcohol
The reason why you get a great amount of alcohol scent when you spray on the body mist is that it contains a lot of alcohol. It’s not a really bad thing though, it only means that spray evaporates faster and the scent evaporates faster as well!
6. There is less oil in a body mist
Another reason why a body mist is not as strong as a perfume is that because it doesn’t have a lot of oil in it. The essential oil is something that makes up a perfume.
Keep in mind that the more oil it has, the stronger the scent is. And there’s usually only a little bit of oil in a body mist.
7. It’s not expensive
Perhaps you’ve already noticed that a body mist is not as expensive as a perfume. For instance, you could spend up to $90.00 on the bottle of good perfume, but you could spend up to $25.00 on a really great body mist. The price difference is one of the reasons why many women buy body mists more often than perfumes!
