7 Great Date Night Ideas for Exhausted Parents

Although being a parent is one of the biggest joys in life, sometimes a night off is deserved and needed. My hubby and I like date nights because they give us a chance to relax and reconnect with each other. If you and your husband need a night off, here are some great and cheap date night ideas for you to try.

1. Go to the movie

I know this is an obvious idea for a date night, but it’s definitely worth mentioning. When you have a child, the only movies you ever really get to watch revolve around cartoon characters, that’s why sometimes you need to watch movies that have some adult content.

2. Go to the theater

When was the last time you and your hubby went to the theater? I think long ago, right? So the next time you two go out, go to the theatre and see an interesting play. There are many hit shows out, so you will definitely find the one both of you enjoy on your date night.

3. Go to your favorite restaurants

This is another obvious date night idea, which you need to remember. As a mother, you are used to cooking and clean up after your family, and sometimes it’s really nice to have other people do the cooking and cleaning up for you. Go to your favorite restaurant and enjoy a quiet dinner.

4. Head to a play place

You always take your children to a play place, and often you can’t get into the games because you should keep an eye on your children. On your date night, go to a play place only with your husband. Race on go-karts, practice your mini-golf put or track each other down while playing laser tag.

5. Go to a concert

I’m absolutely sure that you and your husband have certain performers or bands who you like. So why not go ahead and buy tickets to one of their shows? Arrange for a babysitter for the whole night and sing and dance to some live music. You will certainly have a memorable and fun time.

6. Go to the museum

Do you like going to the museum? How about going to a local museum on your date night? You and your significant other will have the chance to observe historic relics and other artworks without being interrupted by bored children who are constantly bugging you to leave.

7. Go to your favorite bar

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting you go to a bar and get drunk, but you and your husband can certainly enjoy some alcoholic beverages and do so in moderation. You will have a lot of laughs with one another and you will get the chance to enjoy some tasty adult beverages.

Remember you and your husband should always reserve some time for date nights. How often do you and your hubby date one another? What do you like to do? Share your thoughts, please!
