Recently, I have been dealing with a lot of stress and running has been a perfect source of stress relief. I love running because it gives me the opportunity to get outside, helps me clear my mind, and makes me feel much better about myself.
If you are dealing with a difficult situation, running can be an excellent distraction. Moreover, running releases endorphins in your body that make you feel naturally high and alert. Check out a few ways running relieves stress!
1. Releases endorphins
As I mentioned above, running stimulates the release of endorphins that not only make you feel good and reduce your anxiety, but also help slow down the aging process. That’s why so many runners look younger than their true age. I think this is a great reason to start running, isn’t it?
2. Puts you in a better mood
Running can help reduce anxiety, stress, and symptoms of depression. It can also improve your sleep that is usually disrupted by stress. Regular running will lower your stress levels and can give you a greater sense of control over your life!

3. Gives you uninterrupted, peaceful time to think
Since most of us lead a very hectic life, we have too little time for thinking. I appreciate running as some solo time for me to think about important things and to solve some hard problems. Once I begin running it seems like all kinds of creative ideas pop into my head. Get outside and enjoy your run!
4. Helps improve your strengths and weaknesses
Running can also give you time to think about improving your strength and your weaknesses. Everyone can improve a little and this will relieve stress. In fact, there are lots of ways to embrace yourself, and it’s helpful to do it while running.
5. Improves your health
Running improves not only your mental health, but also your physical state. It decreases your risk of cancer, diabetes, obesity and Alzheimer’s disease. Running may also boost your immune system and relieve a lot of stress!
6. Builds your confidence
Running not only relieves stress, but also builds your confidence. When I have a long lean body from my running results, it’s impossible not to have more confidence!
Confident people tend to stress less, since they understand that any problem can be solved quickly and that there’s no problem that is worth stressing over. Run regularly, have more confidence, feel better about yourself and live a stress-free life.
7. It’s meditation for your body and mind
