7 Surefire Ways to Make Your Perfume Last Really Long

I’m a huge perfume lover and I’m always on the lookout for some new ways to make my perfume last really long. Though the quality of perfume plays an important role, there are a few tricks that can help make even the cheapest perfume last longer.

Perfume can have a fantastic effect on your mood and confidence, so it’s no wonder you want it to last as long as possible. It’s so disappointing when the scent disappears after several hours or even several minutes, so why not opt for one of the following tips for making your perfume last all day long? They really do work!

1. Opt for a perfume with strong base notes

When buying perfume, opt for one that has very strong base notes. The thing is, base notes are believed to be the most longest-lasting notes in any perfume. The notes such as patchouli, pine, musk, and vanilla are the notes that last the longest. My personal choice is pine and vanilla notes since they really last more than one day.

2. Moisturize your skin

Before putting on your perfume, it’s important to moisturize your skin. Never spray your perfume on dry skin. After your shower, moisturize your arms and legs and then spritz your perfume.

You don’t have to use too much perfume, a few sprays will be enough to smell great. It will allow your moisturizer to soak in the scent and will make your perfume last longer.

3. Apply perfume immediately after a bath or shower

When having the shower, your pores open right up, and if you spray on your perfume immediately after taking a shower or bath, your pores will soak up the scent much faster and better and it will help your perfume last really longer than usual. This is absolutely one of my best tricks to make the perfume last all day.

4. Spray on your hairbrush

This easy trick I learned from a beauty expert. She advised me to spray a little bit of my favorite perfume on my hairbrush and then run it through my hair.

At first, I was surprised, but then I noticed that it helps make my perfume last much longer. Each time I move, I’m able to smell my perfume. It’s fantastic!

5. Apply perfume on pulse points

It’s recommended to apply fragrance on the pulse points, or anywhere you find a heartbeat. I usually spray perfume on both of my wrists, behind my ears, and then along my neck.

I don’t reapply my perfume during the day, because it lasts all day. However, make sure you don’t overdo it. If you apply your fragrance in an overwhelming manner, it can work against you.

6. Stop rubbing your wrists together

Really, girls, rubbing your wrists together after putting on your perfume is not going to make it last all day. In fact, it will only break up the scent and can make it fade much faster. Simply spray some perfume on the pulse points on your wrist and, as tempting as it may be, avoid rubbing.

Wait a few seconds until it’s completely dry, and enjoy your favorite scent all day long. I usually apply one spray to the left wrist and two sprays to the right wrist. This trick works wonders for me!

7. Layer your fragrances

When it comes to perfumes, it’s crucial to learn how to layer your fragrances correctly. Your body wash, shampoo, body mist, and perfume can all be combined and it’s not as great as you may think. One of the most common mistakes many women make is layering too many fragrances. Keep in mind that two fragrances will be enough.

Fragrance can be a waste of money and time if you don’t learn to wear it properly. Never apply fragrance to your clothes. Many experts say that the scent can easily become distorted when combined with cotton as well as other fabrics, and sometimes can stain your garments.

I always use all of these ways to make a perfume last longer and they help me to save on perfume. How do you make your perfume last really long? Please comment below.1
