Have you ever heard of foods that prevent hair loss? Changing what you eat and how you eat it can really make a huge difference in how you look and feel!
If you’re losing your hair, you should pay attention to your current diet. If it is made up of processed foods, then incorporate more of these foods into your diet! Here are 7 delicious and nutritious foods that prevent hair loss.
1. Shrimp
Perhaps, shrimp is my favorite food that prevents hair loss! Shrimp is high in zinc that is very important in preventing hair loss. But make sure you don’t overdo your zinc consumption, since it can cause hair loss because of increased testosterone.
Stick to the recommended daily allowance (11 milligrams), and you will be fine! I love adding shrimps to pasta or salads, they are so delicious!
2. Eggs and dairy products
If you are suffering from hair loss and you don’t have any dietary restrictions, add more dairy products, such as skim milk, low-fat yogurt, and eggs to your diet. Dairy products and eggs are excellent sources of vitamin A and B12 that help produce sebum, an oil that your body produce to lubricate your skin and hair.

3. Chicken
One of my favorite ways to get protein is by eating chicken. It’s lean, supports strong teeth and bones, helps prevents bone loss, is good for heart health, promotes healthy eyes, speeds up the metabolism and boosts immune function.
Eating chicken is important in keeping hair healthy and strong! Eat a serving a day of lean protein, such as chicken, soy products or fish!

4. Swiss chard
Another tasty and nutritious food that fights hair loss is Swiss chard. It’s high in magnesium, vitamins K, C and A, iron and potassium. Swiss chard is also high in biotin, a water soluble B vitamin that helps with maintenance of healthy hair and nails and also has long been known to stimulate new growth!

5. Garbanzo beans
Garbanzo beans taste great and they are also filled with minerals and vitamins that are good for reducing cholesterol, digestive health, lowering blood pressure and they are good for your hair! They are full of folate and protein, which are the key to lustrous and strong hair! You can bake these beans for a savory treat or add them to your salad!

6. Nuts
I like eating nuts as a healthy snack because I know that they are high in good fats, vitamin E and fiber. Nuts can also help prevent hair loss! Try eating some walnuts, peanuts and almonds as your afternoon snack.
You can also make a trail mix using these nuts. Walnuts, peanuts and almonds contain zinc and omega-3s, both of which are widely known for reducing the shedding of hair and promoting healthy hair!

7. Flaxseed
Flaxseed contains iron, fiber, omega-3 fatty acids and lignans, which can be helpful in fighting hair loss. Iron and omega-3s are known to be good for your hair, as they support a healthy scalp and stimulate hair growth! Sprinkle some flaxseeds on your yogurt or salads, and prevent hair loss!
