2. Have a desk and chair

If you are working from home, you should have your own workspace. It doesn’t need to be a separate room; a desk and chair are all you need. Just be sure to keep it neat and tidy and don’t pile up the clutter. Don’t work from bed, since it will make you feel sleepy when you’re trying to work and awake when it’s time to go to sleep.

3. Have a schedule

Having a schedule is one of the most important tips to follow when you are working from home. Set yourself goals every day or every week, and be sure to accomplish the most important tasks. Make sticky notes with deadlines on or set your alarm to tell you when you should get the task done. It will be easy to lose track of time, become tired, and get nothing done, if you don’t have a schedule.

You should set work hours and get your work done within that time. For instance, at 9 am your workday starts and at 6 pm your workday ends. So turn off your laptop until 9 am the next day and spend more time with your family!

Many people dream of working in their PJs because it drastically reduces their ironing time. However, it’s not good for productivity. I’m not telling you to put on your best suit, but comfortable and clean clothing is essential. For me, getting dressed always signifies the start of the day. And for you?

Perhaps, the worst thing about working from home is that it can make you a bit of a hermit. To prevent it, leave the house at least once a day. I usually go for a 30-minute walk, it helps me to relax.

I also maintain regular contact with my colleagues and boss. Remember you shouldn’t spend all your time working! Join a gym or spend evenings with your family or friends.
