7 Reasons You Should Be Aware of Your Daily Calorie Intake

Do you know what your daily calorie consumption is and what it must be? No matter how healthy you’re eating, if you consume too many calories you won’t lose weight. And if you’re not losing weight after your workout, it can mean that you’re consuming more calories than you’re burning.

Many of us aren’t conscious of how many calories we should be eating. Take a look at the list of a few reasons why you should be aware of your daily calorie intake.

1. Health problems

When you consume too many calories, you put you at a health risk for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and some other health problems. So it’s important to treat your body right and make sure you do not eat too many calories every day.

2. Overeating

Do you find yourself mindlessly eating when you don’t actually want to eat? You’re not alone. About 70% of people eat throughout the day without really being hungry and this certainly adds up to a great amount of extra calories and this clearly explains the increase in obesity. This is one of the main reasons you should be aware of your daily calorie intake!

3. Proper portion size

It’s extremely important to know the proper portion size, especially if you are trying to lose weight. I remember the time when sandwiches were small and salads had dressing measured out.

Keep in mind that you should consume the most of your calorie intake in the first portion of the day. You should eat your last snack after 7 or 8 pm and then forget the way to your kitchen.

If you don’t eat late at night you will get better sleep and wake up feeling much leaner. Since late night eating cause your digestive system to be at work, it can be difficult to fall asleep.

5. Breakfast

Sometimes you are too tired or too busy to have breakfast. But you must always eat your breakfast, even if you’re not hungry early in the morning.

Stabilize your insulin level by beginning your day with eggs, which contain a lot of powerful protein. Plus, eggs are a natural fat burner!

6. Choosing foods for health

Are the calories you’re consuming nutrient dense? The nutritional value in a ninety-calorie apple is much more different than a tasty ninety-calorie cookie.

Be sure to avoid processed food and choose the whole and healthy food. Choosing foods for health will make a huge difference to your waistline and to your health as well.

7. Skipping meals

It’s not healthy to skip meals and I hope you know it. Skipping meals can cause metabolic syndrome, a group of risk factors which occur together increasing your risk of type 2 diabetes and stroke.

Moreover, skipping meals slows down your metabolism and it’s bad for your weight loss. You need to eat 6-8 mini meals throughout the day to stay healthy and slim.
