7 Traits That Will Help You Make More Friends

Though you should always remain yourself, there are some qualities that will help you make more friends. I’m sure you don’t want to be a person that other people dread having around. If you want really long-lasting friendships, keep in mind this list of seven traits that will help you make more friends.

1. Trustworthy

When you’re trustworthy, others can believe in you. Everyone adores their trustworthy friends, because they can tell them anything and they’re sure that the secret will never get out. Refraining from spreading gossip will help you make your friends feel comfortable around you. So don’t talk behind a friend or potential friend’s back.

2. Positivity

Nobody wants to hear about how you are never going to get a car or well-paid job or boyfriend all the time. It’s okay to complain to your friends once in a while, but never tell them that you hate everything about your life. Being positive can rub off on other people and is one of the most important traits that will help you make more friends.

3. Cheerful and carefree

Do you want to be around someone who is easily annoyed and cannot take a joke? I’m sure, you don’t! Lighthearted people are really comfortable to be around. After all, a friend is someone that you are meant to have fun with, right? So sometimes it’s great to be cheerful and carefree, especially when you are with your friends!

4. Nonjudgmental

Do you have a friend that you are afraid to talk to about some serious things? You cannot tell a friend about your crush because they will tell you to aim higher or even make fun of you. This friend is actually a bad friend! It’s so great to have a friend that you can tell everything to without feeling judged. If your friend opens up to you about their life, you should be happy that they trust you.

5. Honesty

This trait can vary from person to person. Some people like to be frankly told when their hair is messy or outfit clashes, while others don’t like it. The important thing to remember is to be honest with the big and more serious issues. If someone wants a good advice on how to cope with a situation, tell them what you think they have to do. They will definitely appreciate your honest opinion.

6. Thoughtfulness

There are many things that you can do that your friends will be grateful for. You can compliment their personality or outfit. You can remember small things about them. When I tell my friends that something I saw made me think of them, I see their happy faces, which make me happy as well.
