7 Surprising Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

I have a few friends who are constantly telling me about the amazing uses for apple cider vinegar. They say that they use it for tons of ailments. So I decided to do a little research and I was surprised to find that there are so many awesome benefits of apple cider vinegar!

1. Relieves heartburn

Easing heartburn is one of the amazing benefits of apple cider vinegar that I have found. If you are pregnant, then apple cider vinegar can help with heartburns. Just add it to a cup of warm herbal tea, or a cup of chilled water and your heartburn will disappear in seconds. It’s works like a charm!

2. Boosts your energy

Another great benefit of apple cider vinegar that I have found is that it’s an amazing, natural energy booster. Since I can’t drink much caffeine, I add one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water in the morning and my energy lasts much longer!

3. Great hair cleanser

Well, I haven’t tried to clean my hair with apple cider vinegar, but my friend says that apple cider vinegar works even better than shampoo. It helps remove dirt and doesn’t strip the hair of its natural oils, as shampoo does. Sure, she uses shampoo, but sometimes she uses apple cider vinegar. I can say that her hair does look gorgeous!

4. Soothes sunburns

Since I have a special relationship with a sun (one look at the sun and I’m burnt to a crisp, even if I apply sunscreen!) it’s interesting to know if apple cider vinegar can help soothe sunburns. I found out from one magazine that apple cider vinegar helps to relieve sunburn pain. This summer I applied it after a bad burn, simply rubbed it on with a damp cloth, and the burn was eased instantly!

5. Boosts potassium levels

When I discussed using apple cider vinegar with my doctor, he told me that it is great for building potassium. He said that apple cider vinegar is rich in potassium that most adults are lacking. Drinking a little of apple cider vinegar every day will help raise potassium levels.

6. Great sinus cleanser

Apple cider vinegar is also a good sinus cleanser. I’ve tried it! After I drink apple cider vinegar, I jump in a hot shower and allow the water to pour over my face and the sinuses feel more open. If you have sinus problems you can try it too!

7. Cleaning

Being pregnant, I don’t want to use the heavy chemicals, which are found in most cleaning agents, but it’s important to keep a clean house, especially with the children running around. When I clean my house, I usually mix one part of apple cider vinegar with one part water and leave it in a bowl or put it in a spray bottle. I wet a cloth (or just spray it) and use it to clean my showers, counters, toilets. It cleans and helps to remove different odors.

Now, I’m absolutely convinced about the amazing benefits of apple cider vinegar. And you? Do you know any other benefits of apple cider vinegar? Feel free to share with us!
